I bought this for my Linux/Unix Shell Scripting class while in College and it would have been perfect, but it lacks some detail as to how to do the lessons our instructor had us do. I heard the instructor tried to have this assigned for use in teaching Linux/Unix Operating Environment and it didn't work because the co-instructors were still asking questions that were intended for Mark G.

I found this Linux reference to be a great read. It is or can be a valuable reference to all linux users regardless of user level.

$10 small Linux book to try commands on laptop wherever I go. Also LPIC-1 exams.
