Tree of Cranes

This book is charming. It will be a birth gift for my pastor upon the arrival of his first child.

This book is dark and troubling. Here is a young boy playing unsupervised in a pond surrounded by snow.

The story and illustrations are both lovely, as expected, but I was disappointed to find that the name of the previous owner was written on the dust jacket of the book I received. The Amazon description said the book was in "new" condition.
